After my first expedition down south, I knew I had to do everything in my power to return. I sold half my belongings, worked harder than I'd ever worked, and somehow found myself on yet another ship, sailing down south - this time, further than any commercial vessel had gone in the last decade. While most expeditions stopped even before they hit the Antarctic circle, ours didn't start until we'd crossed it. This time of year, so late into the season, we get sunsets and night skies unlike anything else in the world. Raw, pristine, untouched. If there were one place I could only go for the rest of my life, this would be it. Hands down.
